Our Statement of Faith

We are a group of Christian believers that gather in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ according to what is written in the Holy Bible in the New Testament. We seek to maintain the apostolic pattern and simplicity which marked the churches in the days of the apostles. We seek to worship God "in Spirit and in truth."

There is no distinction between "clergy" and "laity" but we recognize that God bestows gifts to men in the body (local church) as He wills and each member in the body is to function together, exercising his gift for the benefit of the whole body, with the Lord as head of the body.

We Believe:

Bible

In the Bible as the divinely inspired inerrant Word of God, the revelation of His mind and will to man, our infallible, all-sufficient guide for salvation and for the Christian life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

God

In one God, the creator of all, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13-14).

In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is true God and true man begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and that He has a perfect and sinless humanity (John 1:1, Philippians 2:6; Matthew 1:23-25; 1 John 3:5).

Depravity of Man

In the total depravity of the nature of man through his fall in the Garden of Eden and the absolute inability of man to save himself from eternal punishment by his own works (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Salvation

In the immediate and eternal salvation of every person who truly believes in Christ (John 3:16) and by faith rests on His finished work as the only righteous ground on which a holy God can forgive his sins (Ephesians 2:8-9).

That all who by faith received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, indwelt by the Holy Spirit and by the Holy Spirit baptized into the Body of Christ, the Church, of which He is the risen ascended Head (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18).

Death of Christ on the Cross

In the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary, through which sacrifice Christ has effected complete and eternal redemption (Ephesians 1:7), God setting His seal of approval on the work of Christ by raising Him from among the dead, enthroned Him at His own right hand in heaven (Ephesians 1:20).

That He is the head of the church (1 Corinthians 12:12-14), the Lord of the individual, the High Priest over the house of God (Hebrews 4:14), and Advocate in the family of God (1 John 2:1).

Heaven and Hell

In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved (1 Thessalonians 4:17) and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (Revelation 20:11-15).

The Church

That the early church met together and "continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and in the breaking of bread and in prayers" (Acts 2:42) — God's pattern for the church today.

Return of Christ

In the personal, imminent and premillennial coming of the Lord to rapture (catch up) the church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17).

In the revelation of Christ in glory at His Second Advent to the earth to establish His kingdom on earth and to reign in righteousness (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10; Philippians 2:9-11).

Baptism

That baptism is by immersion of all true believers upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39).

The Lord's Supper (Communion)

We remember our Lord and His death for us by celebrating the Lord's Supper (Luke 22:19-20; Acts 20:71; Corinthians 11:24-29).
